7 Best Websites to Find Jobs as a Virtual Assistant

find virtual assistant jobs, finding jobs, virtual assistant, freelancer, 7 best websites to find jobs online, online jobs, how to become a virtual assistant,

When I first started as a virtual assistant, I found myself so lost to the point of thinking of going back to my previous job. I don’t know how to land my first client. There are several websites that I thought were great but found out it wasn’t for me.

I know your pain because I’ve been there. I know how difficult it is for new freelancers to search for virtual assistant jobs without overwhelming ourselves with all the resources we find online. So, I’ve listed the websites where to find online jobs as a virtual assistant. Just go through them and find out what might best work for you.

Freelancer has 21 million users across the world and was awarded the Best Employment Website in 2015 and 2016. Here you can bid on a project or you can be invited to work on a project by a client depending on how you have convinced him on your profile. Signing up is free. You can use your email and Facebook account.

Clients are only required to pay once the project is done. If the project is complex or might take longer to finish, you can negotiate it with the client by breaking it down into several smaller projects or milestones.

This Canada based online network for VAs has been around since 2003. It has 30,000 members worldwide. VA Networking offers resources about the basic ins and outs of the VA world that you can consume for free.

Unlike Freelancer, Upwork, Fiverr, and other websites, there is a fee to be paid to be part of the network. The network then will match you with clients. Its services include web design, social media, real estate, programming, etc.

Chris Ducker's company on the list. It was his book Virtual Freedom that really helped me understand how to best use a virtual assistant. This company will find out your needs and personally match you to a virtual assistant that they think will be the best fit. It's this personalized service that sets them apart. It's better suited not for a person trying to get a task done here and there, but for someone looking for more of a permanent, longer-term solution.

I am also one of the freelancers that VSF helped since 2014.

Another website where you can find job 2020 is Guru. Its mission is to bring employers and freelancers together from around the globe to get things done. And for you to do that, just go to their website and sign up for free. You can then start building your profile (just like any other website). To get a job, just view the current job listing and submit a quote.

This Israel-based website which started in 2010 is a go-to for virtual assistants in finding online jobs in 2020. As you could have guessed by its name, you can get a simple task done for $5. Depending on the difficulty or complication of the task, the price tag can be much higher.

Unlike other websites that I’ll be listing in this article, Fiverr’s approach for VAs to land projects is by allowing registered virtual assistants to post their service and portfolio. It’s like a directory of freelancers which they call ‘seller’ where clients choose their best bet.

You can sign up with your email. It is easy and free. Like any other website, Fiverr will charge you a certain percentage of your income in a certain project.

I even use Fiverr to create my own gig!

At 12 million registered VAs, it is safe to say that this California based website, Upwork is popular in terms of landing online jobs. Sign-up is for free. You can browse the job listing to find the work you want to take and submit a proposal. They have a limited number of connections or like points that you can use in a month to connect with potential clients. You can do an upgrade if you want to apply for more. They are also very keen on the client's feedback about you so be careful or before you know it you can no longer send proposals.

Here you can check possible jobs that might work for you without signing up. Once you click the job that you want to apply for. It gives you an overview of the extent of the work that you will have to do if you get the job as the requirements. When you give it a go, the hiring process will include job application form, pre-screening online skills assessment, short interview, practical test assignment, and finally evaluation of the assignment and decision on hiring. Check out WeWorkRemotely.

BONUS:

Freelancing Made Easy (FME) helps ordinary Pinoys start their dream online careers with free and paid guides, courses, tutorials, and webinars. If you want to have the resources and guides that really cater to Filipino freelancers, this one for you! Philip, who is the Founder of FME also shares job opportunities for new freelancers.

If you are just starting and want to get the feel about how VA-ing works, you can kickstart with Fiverr, Upwork, and even our very own FREE Becoming a Virtual Assistant module is coming soon. But that does not mean that you cannot go with the other websites. The sky's the limit. If you think you have enough skills to do what these online jobs require, GO for it.
